Montelvini is a distinguished family-owned winery based in Venegazzù, within Italy’s Veneto region—specifically in the renowned Asolo Prosecco Superiore DOCG and Montello areas. The Serena family's winemaking journey began in 1881, and over five generations, they have nurtured their heritage while continuously innovating. In 1968, Armando Serena launched the modern iteration of Montelvini, creating a standalone estate that embraced both regional tradition and contemporary winecraft.
Montelvini: A Century of Elegance from the Heart of Prosecco DOCG
Today, Armando remains active as president and also leads the DOCG consortium, while his children Alberto and Sarah manage sales, communications, and administration. Montelvini’s emblem, an owl, symbolizes wisdom and a deep bond with the land—reflecting their philosophy as true “allies in the vineyard”. The winery is recognized for crafting exceptional Prosecco DOCG and regional still wines, with their terroir in the Asolo hills celebrated for gravelly soils, a mild microclimate, and scenic landscapes.
Montelvini boasts several esteemed collections, including Serenitatis, Master, Promosso, and Plumage—each delivering different expressions of quality and style. Their FM333 release—Asolo Prosecco Superiore DOCG Brut Millesimato 2020—is the first officially recognized single-cru of the appellation, and has won major accolades including Italy’s Vinibuoni d’Italia “Crown” and awards from Merano, Decanter, and IWSC. Other Prosecchi from their range consistently score in the 90+ points range, according to Falstaff reviews.
Montelvini also innovates beyond sparkling wine. They produce Zuitèr, a still white made from Manzoni Bianco, and Zuitèr Rosso, a Bordeaux-style blend lauded for its longevity and depth. Additionally, the Vigneto Ritrovato project seeks to revive historic vineyards in the heart of Asolo, honoring both history and terroir.
At every level—be it through elegant bubbly, still varietals, or historic vineyard reclamation—Montelvini stands as a modern guardian of Venetian viticulture. Their blend of tradition, quality, and innovation positions them not just as Prosecco leaders, but as true storytellers of their land.
