- Hersteller / Producer: Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux, 3 Route Nationale 74, 21700 Vosne-Romanée, France

Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux, based in the heart of Vosne-Romanée, Burgundy, is one of the most exciting names in contemporary French winemaking. Founded in 1858, the domaine was originally known as Domaine Robert Arnoux before being renamed in 2007 after Florence Arnoux and her husband Pascal Lachaux. Today, the estate spans around 14.5 hectares, featuring prized Pinot Noir parcels in prestigious appellations such as Nuits-Saint-Georges, Chambolle-Musigny, Clos de Vougeot, Echézeaux, and Romanée-Saint-Vivant.
Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux: A Modern Vision Rooted in Vosne-Romanée Tradition
Since taking the reins in 2012, Charles Lachaux—the sixth generation—has revolutionized the domaine’s approach in both vineyard and cellar. In the vineyards, Charles introduced regenerative farming techniques, high trellising, and organic practices with minimal intervention. His methods reject tillage, mowing, and excessive green harvesting in favor of letting nature express itself through the vines. The result is a vibrant, living soil that translates into wines of purity and precision.
In the cellar, Charles favors whole-cluster fermentation, native yeasts, and ultra-gentle extraction. He has also phased out new oak aging entirely, opting instead for amphorae and cement vessels to preserve the authenticity of each vineyard. His belief is that oak should not mask terroir, and under his guidance, Arnoux-Lachaux wines are fresher, more energetic, and deeply expressive of their origin.
The domaine’s top cuvées, including Romanée-Saint-Vivant and Les Suchots, have garnered international acclaim for their depth, finesse, and transparency. With limited yields and a strict focus on quality, these wines are highly allocated and sought-after by collectors and sommeliers alike. Despite rising prices and global demand, the estate has maintained a deep respect for its roots and artisanal spirit.
Charles Lachaux has also launched his own négociant project for more accessible wines, reflecting the same philosophy of purity and minimalism. As a result, Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux has become a symbol of Burgundy’s future—where tradition and innovation coexist to produce wines that are both soulful and forward-thinking.
